When I met him...My idol, my inspiration, my hero...Rajesh Khanna WOW

"Hello, Luiza" I hear a voice from behind as I pick up roses from a garden and I turn behind to trace the voice. I see two eyes of a man walking in the midst of fog approaching me and the roses slip from my hand.

"Ra...Ra...Rajesh Khanna..." My voice trembles and eyes refuse to blink as I notice that the man is none other than Bollywood's first superstar, Rajesh Khanna.

Rajesh Khanna approaches me and stands in front of me with a smile on his face and I keep watching the twinkle in his eyes. As I try to realize what's happening and try to come to my senses, tears start trickling down my cheeks. I watch his hands moving upwards, towards my cheek and I move backwards in a start. The voice says "Luiza, mujhse yeh aasoon nahin dekhe jaate (I cannot see these tears) ... I hate tears."

I keep watching his face as it glows and say "I always wanted to meet you, Sir. I so wanted to meet you...But you left this world....Couldn't control my tears." Rajesh replies saying "Call my Rajesh, Luiza. I am your friend. Your babumushoi."

As he talks to me, his voice keeps going deeper and our conversation continues as I can't stop my tears from flowing. "Why? Why did you leave this world? I can't bear this pain. You were just 69 and as I do every year, I wanted to celebrate your 70th birthday by offering a mass for you in my church. I couldn't believe that you left this world so soon."

Rajesh smiles again and replied "Babumushoi, zindagi aur maut upar waale ke haath hai ... usse na toh aap badal sakte hai na main ... hum sab to rangmanch ki kathputliyan hai jinki dor upar waale ki ungliyon mein bandhi hai (My friend, life and death is in the hands of God ... you can't change it and neither can I ... we all are puppets of the theater whose string is tied in the fingers of God)"

"That's true." I say and smile remembering the olden days when I was his crazy fan girl. "Why the hidden laughter? Wouldn't you share it with me?" I look at him and my eyes meet his and I say "I know Rajesh that you must have had lakhs of fan girls and must have heard this several times but today I want to tell you how much I loved you, you were my hero. I come from a middle-class family and hence mom used to not give me much pocket money but I used to collect few paise everyday from my school pocket money to watch your movie in the theater. May it be Ittefaq, Do Raaste or Anand and many more, I watched most of your movies First Day First Show but many a times I used to not get tickets for your movies as they used to run housefull. You were an idol for me and every role of yours is close to my heart."

"I know, Luiza. You were one of my biggest fans and hence I'm here today to thank you as it's because of fans like you that I became a star. Thanks a lot for making me what I am." He says while tapping my shoulders with his left hand.

"You remember the first time when you came to the court and I met you?" He laughs when I say this and responds while holding my shoulders with both and hands "Of course. I saw you running towards me and among all others who kept shouting my name, you stood silently and offered me a paper to give me autograph while your eyes were still scared of me. I signed it for you then."

I smile widely and nod my head saying "Yes, you had written "Love You, Rajesh Khanna" and that day was bliss as I saw my idol before me. The other lawyers rushed towards me and tried to grab that note from me and they succeeded in tearing the paper. I cried and cried for days as that was the only thing I had of you and after that I was left to only talk to your pictures in my room and in my books."

"I know Luiza and hence I have brought this for you." It was a bouquet of flowers and a note that read "Love You, Rajesh Khanna". The tears dry up as I see the thing that I always longed for all my life and everytime when I remembered Rajesh, that note used to come in my dreams. "What are you thinking about, Luiza? This is what you wanted from me and here I came to give it to you. Afterall, you are my biggest fan Luiza." I hug him and feel that I've achieved everything in life with this hug. I felt blessed to meet my inspiration, Rajesh Khanna.

"Now I need to go, Luiza. I came here to thank you for your love and now I've achieved that with the smile on your face." As he decides to leave, I hold his hand and Rajesh turns behind with his eyes asking me the reason and I say "Before you go, I have a poem written for you:

Yeh Raaz nahi hai ki main aapse Amar Prem karti hoon

Is Prem Nagar mein aapko main Aaina mein dekhti hoon

Aap ki Kasam, maine apni Khamoshi se yeh Sacha Jhoota rishta nibhaya

Ek Choti Bahu banke maine is Raaz ko raaz ki tarah sambhala

Is Anand ko main apne Palkon Ki Chaon Mein chupaungi

Aur zindagi ke Safar mein Bandhan nibhaungi

Rajesh kisses me on my forehead and leaves the garden leaving behind his footsteps that tell me what a wonderful person he was all his life and the music plays as I notice him vanishing in the fog "Zindagi ka safar, hai yeh kaisa safar...Koi samjha nahi, koi jaana nahi"

A letter that was saved in my drafts and here's a picture of my first love, Bollywood's first and my only superstar...Rajesh Khanna...

My experience at Lloyd Sheroes

Yesterday, I attended the LLOYD SHEROES Summit and had a great experience overall. There were many speakers whose insight and experience helped me a lot to rethink my career goals and get to know how can I prove myself as a women professional. Here are some points that I would like to share:

The event started with writers like Apurv Nagpal and Bhawna Mohile speaking about getting women to write for their book 18+ and Urjita Kulkarni spoke about her family supporting her career and why women shouldn't suppress their choices to write bold content. It was really interesting to know that there are women who are confident about their talent and are brave enough to write abut sex humor and content. The writers also spoke about pen names of women writers as they do not prefer to write their real names on books. Since I also am a premature writer and write short stories, it really motivated me to begin my career as a writer and not have any second thoughts on the same.

The second session had Nipun Singhal, Shijini Kumar and Reena Chabbra who spoke about their career experience and I got to know many interesting facts when Shijini mentioned how Paytm focuses on age groups between 15-35 using digital media and that she wants to introduce a feature that helps women working late nights and gives them an option to recharge their mobile easily. It was inspiring to know how Shijini and Reena spoke about women customers and related to their thoughts and likings. Even Nipun spoke about how his company has introduced a unisex machine due to the sexism that exists.

The third session had a mixture of a spiritual essence and humor where Sonam Kalra made us watch a video of her latest album and it really touched my heart. She spoke about her journey as a singer of Sufi Gospel. Neeti Palta's session was just great as it was filled with humor and being thoughtful. She made me think about sexism that exists in every field as she spoke about how female comedians are asked about their humor content and questioned in terms of talent compared to male comedians.

The fourth session was really interesting as it had speakers like Sonali Roy Chowdhary, Rega Jha, Deepali Nair and Neha Motwani wherein they explained how women taking maternity leaves and their experience while working in a male dominated sector. It was interesting to hear how women face so many barriers while working and how a male founder is considered better than a female founder. It made me realize that women need to work very hard to gain the confidence of clients and it matters in cases where women lead businesses.

The fifth session had the very famous personality Venky Mysore who spoke about his experience with KKR and how he brought a change in the entire team to make it a successful one. He also added humorous elements while talking about his meetings with Shahrukh Khan and Jai Mehta and how did he land up from a cooperate world to the entertainment and cricket world.

Last but not the least, we had three women entrepreneurs who spoke about their brands and businesses and how they plan to be innovative and monetize their business. We also heard Varun Grover who claimed to be a feminist more than a meninist and his personal experience when it comes to sex being treated and spoken about with children being around and it being considered a boon.

Overall, every session was very interesting and I got to hear famous business entrepreneurs talk about their experience and make me feel that I could also be one of them if I take up the right opportunities and prove myself.

Criticism only helps

I still remember the day when my result was announced and I rushed to the board to see my marks. I scored 88 out of 100 in Hindi and my Hindi master congratulated me for the same but also mocked me saying that if I had to take tuitions from him, I would score 95-99 marks in Hindi. I just looked at him without a smile as I knew he was trying to put me down instead of appreciating me for getting those marks even without taking private tuitions. The master kept taunting me whenever the results were out and I used to feel low due to his behaviour and used to cry alone in a corner while the other classmates used to enjoy the scene. It was then a friend named Anna consoled me and said that these people are mocking you because they are jealous of you. The master wants to earn from you and take credit for your marks but since you did not take tuitions from him and are still able to get such good marks, he was unhappy. They are laughing at you as they are scared of your success but you should never be weak in life and only defy them. I did not believe her that moment but then I thought about it and realized that it was only the money factor that mattered to others and not my talent and I had to prove to them that I can achieve what I want only based on my talent. I cleared my tenth scoring 72% which made me among the top 5 students of my school and I was the only one who never took classes and scored those marks based on my knowledge solely.

The same happened with me in college too and I kept remembering Anna's words that those who laugh at you are only scared of your success and this was my main motto in life. I kept clearing my exams and received a scholarship and freeship as well that helped me to study in the LAW college free of cost. I managed to complete my college studies as well as I worked in the office and got a promotion within 1 year. The words of Anna were so consoling and soothing that made me confident in life and even when my own people used to criticize me, I never looked back or gave up on my studies but my goal was always forward and I achieved the same with an LLM degree with first class in all subjects. Today I'm a Criminal Lawyer and still I face the same criticism and competition in the court but I still am able to stand strong and fight in the court without looking back.

The main message of this post is "THERE WILL BE MANY WHO WILL PUT YOU DOWN IN LIFE BUT THE TRUE WINNER WILL BE THE ONE TO FACE THE CRITICISM AND OVERCOME IT WITH SUCCESS."

I am blogging about my dreams and the people who helped make them true for the #AdviceThatMattered activity at BlogAdda in association with Stoodnt.

My father, my inspiration

I am glad that Blogadda and Stoondt has made me remember the person who has inspired me in my life and helped me achieve my goals. There have been many people who have advised me many times in my life and today is the day to remember those inspirational words and quotes that I remember at every point in my life. The person whose advice I follow till this day is my FATHER.
When I started earning money from my first job at the age of 16, my mother was very disappointed as she believed that girls should not go out and work and this used to always pinch me badly to see the unhappy face of my mom. I still remember the day when I earned my first salary and rushed towards my mom to feed her with sweets. She refused to eat them but my dad held my shoulders and asked for a sweet that I was going to feed my mom. He ate it and blessed me with his hand. It was not that my mom was angry on me but she just feared that the outside world was cruel towards working women but my dad always encouraged me and let me fulfil my dreams.

I used to work and study in the evening college and it used to get late to reach home and it was my father who used to come to take me from my college so that I'm safe. He always was there for me and used to protect me from falling. Studies was something he admired as he used to sit under street lights and learn. He loved books a lot and used to keep awake with me throughout my exams and used to wait for me outside the exam hall to boost my confidence. Some of the quotes I still remember when I feel low and need help are:

Never beg, borrow and steal...Always live on your own money and strength and in times of hardships, never borrow money as it would only increase your problems but never reduce it. This quote of his has always helped me whenever I needed money and I learnt to manage through it till now.

If you meet back-to-back failures till it makes you bend completely, that is the time when you need to rise...The meaning that this quote of my dad taught me that I should never feel it's the end of my life when I am sad or going through an emotional breakdown or professional hardships in my life. Things will become fine soon as every person gets his share of happiness and sadness.

Dream as high as you can, but never forget yourself in your dreams...This was the most important quote of his that applies in every stage of my life. I always had dreams about my married life, my kids and my family but I never expected beyond my limits or something that I couldn't fulfil. I knew and set my boundaries.

A letter to my best friend #WOW

My dear Myra,

This is your old friend Luiza, from Mumbai, India. I know you might be surprised as you read this letter as I am contacting you after almost 5 years since we met and interacted with each other but today I got a chance to pen down my emotions and tell you how much you mean to me as a friend as Friendship's day is just 2 days away and this day I want you to read my letter and wear the friendship band I am sending you, enclosed with this letter. In this letter, I wish to go through those old memories and tell you how special you have been for me by using COLORS and the resemblance of these colors in our friendship.

YELLOW SIGNIFIES THE PURITY AND JOYFUL MOMENTS OF OUR FRIENDSHIP:

I still have faint memories of the day when we first became friends. It was my first day at school and we were in the first standard. I kept looking out my window and kept crying as my mom bid me adieu and left me in the classroom and I kept holding the bars of the window in the hope that she'll come back and take me away. It was then you who came towards me and patted me on the back. I then looked back and you smiled at me. It was a moment I can never forget as I still remember your smile and that day we became friends, best friends for life and since then, you had become my protector and anyone who used to fight with me, you used to come forward to support me. We were called "Laurel and Hardy" in school as I was very thin and you were healthy. Often we used to laugh and love the name given to us.

RED AND YELLOW SIGNIFIES THOSE JOVIAL MOMENTS WE SHARED:

Remember the day when we played a prank on Miss Catherine? It still makes me laugh, imagining Miss Catherine wondering where we had left the class when she was in front of us all the time. That day we were so bored of attending classes and our attendance had already been taken in the first period itself. We then thought of a plan to escape hearing more classes and before Miss Catherine entered, we went underneath the benches as all the students stood up to greet her. We quitely kept walking on our knees and while moving outside the class, I almost hit her saree fall and you caught my hand. I was about to make a noise and you silenced me by putting your finger on the lips. Then we quitely hurried up and left the class. The moment we reached outside, we just got up and ran and then we climbed up the school gate to only be stopped by the watchman. He asked us where we were going and you said "My friend is unwell..." You pinched me while saying that and I made a sad face to make him believe us. I also acted as if I was about to puke and hence he felt sorry and told you to take me to the doctor. We then left and smirked at each other. Our first ever experience of bunking school and we roamed around in our school dress. So much fun.

LIGHT PINK SIGNIFIES THOSE MOMENTS WHERE I REALLY APPRECIATED YOUR PRESENCE AND ADMIRED YOU AS A FRIEND:

I must have never shared this with you earlier but today I want to thank you so much for supporting me during those moments when I felt like my life is over and I wanted to end it to get free from my pain. It was like my entire life had come to a standstill when the person whom I loved so much, the person for whom I had fought with my parents and for whom I misused my job duties too had cheated on me for a girl who looked more beautiful and was more rich than I was. He broke our engagement a week before we had to get married in the Church and when everything had been decided. That time, even our friend and my best colleague, Reena, had told me to leave her house as she felt I was a bad omen for her while she was getting married. She did not invite me for her wedding and she asked you to come for the function before me. You being a true friend scolded her for misbehaving with me and did not take her invitation card and just left. That time I was sad but happy too that you were there for me when everyone just hated me. I can't thank you enough for always standing for me even during those bad moments.

DARK PINK SIGNIFIES TWO WORDS THAT I WANT TO SAY "THANK YOU"

Today, I cannot think of anyone else as my best friend and it's only you with whom I have shared me best moments as well as weak ones, my secrets which you never disclosed to anyone and kept them locked in your heart and I just want to thank you for everything and I will always love you. They say friends are closer to you than your own family is. I would have never believed this if I had never had you in my life. You've been more than my own blood relations and my best friend, Myra.

I have written a small poem for you today to show my appreciation (PEACH SIGNIFIES APPRECIATION)

May my own family turn its face
And the whole world change its pace
I know there's a pure soul waiting for me
It's only you who's always with me like an ace

Whenever you see me, you capture me in an embrace
I feel entangled in a maze
May our friendship always be remembered as Laurel and Hardy
With all our memories locked in a suitcase.

Love you Myra...

WISHING YOU A HAPPY FRIENDSHIP'S DAY...

Yours truly,
Luiza (your own luci)

Ancient India #DreamTrails

I am a historical lover and every time I checkout books to read about ancient India, I just buy them and keep reading them to get information about how was life then. I even love watching movies that keep me attached and take me through the journey of those olden days when India had beautiful monuments, dresses, desserts, art, food and architecture. Today, most of those forts and monuments have either been destroyed or we can see only the remains as they are over 1000 years old and I just dream about them being as they were in those days and wish that I was born in that era and got to witness these forts and monuments as they were being made. The thing that attracts me even more to these historical places is the mystery and stories associated with these places that increases my curiosity to visit them and experience them myself.

While running down the memory lane, I have few factors to pen down few facts that I would like to visit and do if I was born in that era:

1. Bhangarh Fort:

I once read about the haunted forts in India and came across the Bhangarh Fort which is considered one of the most haunted places in India. This palace is supposed to be built in the 17-th century by Man Singh I for his grandson Madho Singh I and is an extremely beautiful place for tourists. This fort is located in Rajasthan and has many stories associated with it being considered haunted.

The mystery behind this fort is that, once a black magician N.K. Sinha fell in love with the princess Ratnavati and he wanted to trap her with the help of ittar (scent) but she got to know about his evil deed and trapped him instead and killed him. Before dying, he cursed the fort and predicted that all people in this fort would die and the place would be destroyed. Eventually, all the residents including the princess were killed and since then, this fort is considered a curse and nobody is allowed within the palace after it gets dark.

Read more: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bhangarh_Fort

It's a dream of mine to visit the Bhangarh Fort at night and witness the paranormal activities myself and capture it in my memory.

2. Padmanabhaswamy Temple Chamber B

I heard about the news report of Padmanabhaswamy Temple Chamber B which was discovered to have an underground vault in the year 2011. The vault A contains all kinds of jewellery, artefacts and articles made of gold and precious stones that are valued as high as $22 billion. And vault B is said to contain even more artefacts and precious jewellery found in vault A.

Now the mystery/story behind this vault is that the vault is said to be protected by giant serpents and breaking this vault could cause a massive disaster. There is a serpents' image on vault B that indicates danger to anyone opening it.

This is the second place I would like to visit and witness the opening of vault B personally and checkout what's hidden behind it. It's like a mystery and the most exciting one for me.

3. Mian Tansen's music:

Needless to say, Mian Tansen is considered as the most prominent Indian classical music composer and he was among the nine jewels at the court of Mughal Emperor Akbar.

The mystery/story behind his singing is that, it is believed that Tansen had the power to lighten up fire and he taught his daughter to bring rain by just singing Megh Malhar. This was the power his voice and talent exhibited and till date nobody could ever reach his calibre. It is also believed that he could bring animals to hear his songs and calm them down as well.

It would just be a dream for me to listen to atleast one composition and hear Tansen's original voice to get an experience of one of the most prominent singers our country ever had.

4. Mermaid:

A mermaid is a legendary aquatic creature with the head and upper body of a female and the tail of a fish. There have been many stories that I've always read about mermaids in story books and fairy tales but this was a true picture of a mermaid's remains found on the Marina Beach in Chennai.

It is believed that Goddess Atargatis transformed herself into a mermaid in ancient Assyria as she accidentally killed her human lover. Mermaids are associated with events such as floods, storms or shipwrecks.

Whether good or bad, I would like to see a mermaid in reality and know the mystery behind the same.

5. Flor do Mar

Flor do Mar is a Portuguese ship built in 1502 and it was said to be the richest vessel of all times that carried 200 coffers of precious stones, diamonds. This ship was built for the Portuguese India run. In 1511, the ship came out of Malacca, Malaysia towards Goa and was caught in a storm that it couldn't resist. With the sinking of this ship, the treasure which is said to be the most expensive vessel to be lost in the seabed and never to be recovered.

I just wish that I could have seen this ship atleast one and witness the riches it carried with it. There have been several ships that have been lost and their remains are lying deep inside the seabed and the mystery behind them lie buried over there itself.

6. Svoy Hotel, Mussoorie

This hotel in Mussoorie which was built in 1902 and considered the most luxurious hotels is now considered haunted as a women named Madam Frances Garnett-Orme was poisoned to death in her hotel room in the year 1911. Prussic acid was found in her body. After few days, the doctor who examined her was found dead due to poison and it was considered her curse as she could communicate with spirits during her lifetime. It is reported that guests do feel a spirit among them as Miss Garnett keeps searching for her murderer even today.

If this is true, I would like to visit this hotel as it's the most beautiful ones in Mussoorie and the story also seems interesting to listen to.
